Metal Detector Wireless Headphones Project - www.metaldetectorx.com - I have been putting this project off for too long. Pure joy, it works! I am saying goodbye to metal detecting headphone cords, FOREVER! I am known for counting my chickens before they hatch. I will not be fully sure till I test this in the field, BUT, I am very confident the audio will be full quieting, better than BBC quality at a constant. Remember those funky FM transisitor radio headphones from the 70's that look like metal detecting headphones? Those will work. You can also get the FM attachment for your IPod and listen to your metal detector on that using inner ear buds. The possibilities are nearly unlimited. Another choice is a pair of those smaller walkman style headphones with the built in radio. My plan I want the pocket Digital FM receiver with built in speaker, headphone jack and walkman headphones. It will clip on my belt, cord running inside clothing up to ear(s) FBI style. By the way, in my short amount of research, I'm seeing some of these portable devices now have battery life of over 20 hours. Point being, all batteries involved will outlast the battery life time of the metal detector. Pulling three fresh AAA batteries off the charger bay before every hunt is not even close to being an inconvenience, compared to that pesky cord.
