Do I need a headset? Shovel? Knife? What are the basic accessories I will need in addition to the metal detector itself?

I'm going on vacation next week and I'm paranoid that my braces will set off the metal detector at the security checkpoint. Last night I told my mom "What if my braces have set off the metal detector and they have to strip search me?!". No I don't suffer from paranoia. I'm just really cautious.

I've got a small electric buggy that contains a metal detector, to detect IEDs (improvised explosive devices). When the metal detector detects something underground, I want it to send a signal back to the receiver in the remote control (that controls the buggy). So, I want the remote control to make a sound from the speakers if something is detected. How do you do this?
